  • Year of Establishment – 1986
  • The department of Sociology was under the umbrella of the department of Political Science until 1988.
  • After the appointment of Mrs. Rachna Khanna as a regular lecturer in 1988, a separate department was established

  • On 24th January 2022 sociologist department in collaboration with Computer Applications celebrated NATIONAL GIRL CHILD Day. Haryana State project officer Dr Prabhjot kaur was the resource person.As many as 200 participants participated in this online seminar.,including students,faculty and alumni (Col.Marvah).
  • On 22.02.2022 IQAC Coordinator madam Rachna khanna organized one day NATIONAL Seminar (online) on the topic 'Professional Ethics",.Dr Peyush Pahade ,President IQAC cluster India was the resource person.
  • One Week Faculty Development Programme, from23rd April to 27 th April 2022was organized by NAAC coordinator madam Rachna khanna. The FDP was organized in collaboration with IQAC south India and a D.G.H.E .Haryana on the topic-Academic Writing in Research.More then 425 participants across different states of India participated in the FDP.
  • On 15 June 2022 IQAC Coordinator madam Rachna Khanna organized one day Workshop on 'Synergy of NEP&NAAC Assessment and Accreditation and value based education. Dr Krishna kant,Principal, Aggarwal college.Ballabgarh was the key speaker.
  • On June 2022,Mrs Rachna khanna participated in the NATIONAL level workshop on NAAC Accreditation process for Higher Educational Institutions, organized by Institute for Academic Excellence Andhra Pradesh.
  • Presented a paper on the topic:  Research Development E cosystem in Higher Educational Institutions”, in one day National Confrence organized by Aggarwal Ballabhgarh college sponsored by NAAC Banglore on 6th October 2022.
  • On 25.3.2023,Sociology department organized one day visit to URBAN slums in Ambala Cantt in association with Ambala based NGos-Drops and Indrish Welfare Society.The students of sociology conducted a brief survey of the area to understand the socio-economic conditions of the inhabitants.
  • Participated in one week online Short term course on "Community Engagement ",organized by University Grant Commission ,Human Resource Development.,Kurukshetra. From 27/2/2023 to 4/3/2023
  • On May 06,2023,  participated in One Day NATIONAL Webinar on "Academic Bank of Credit, organized by IQAC of MDSD, college .Ambala city under the aggies of Institute 's Innovation Council.
  • Participated in a “Course For Preparing And uploading NAAC Documents” from 5th April to 27 April 2023 organized by WhiteCode, IQAC cluster India
  • Presented a paper on the topics: "Sustainable Development through Quality Education ",in the National Seminar organized by Santamaria Dharam Girls college Bhatinda,sponsored by ICSSR New Delhi on 19 th November 2022
  • Quiz competition was organized by Sociology department on the theme-Society,Culture& Social Change.on 5.5.2023.
  • Ms.Moni,roll no.1221602066006 stood first,and Ms.Tushita.roll no.,1221602002119 stood second and Mr Prateek Bhatia roll.n.1221602002144 stood third in the quiz competition. Winners were awarded merit certificates. by the worthy Principal

  • National Webinar on the importance of National Girl Child Day was Organised by the department of sociology in collaboration with department of computer applications on 24th January 2022

  • A philanthropic visit to urban slum areas was carried out by the students of the Sociology department along with their teacher on 19th January 2019 with the purpose of getting first-hand information of families residing there and the various problems they are facing. A detailed report was prepared.
  • The sociology department in collaboration with Women Cell celebrated “National Girl Child Day” on 24th January 2019. The day was marked to highlights the importance of Girl Child in the contest of Beti-Bachao, Beti-Padhao.
  • Department organized “National Cleanliness Day” in the college on 30th January, 2019 alongwith NSS, NCC, Women Cell, and Red Cross Society to sensitize and generate awareness towards clean and healthy environment. Poster Making, Slogan Writing and On the Spot Photography competitions were also held.
  • In collaboration of department of Management, Commerce and Women Cell, Sociology department organized State Level Declamation and Essay Writing Competition on 18.02.2019.
