Extension Lecture on “Crimes Against Women” Report Dated: 24.01.2020 Alumni Cell of the college organized an Extension Lecture on “Crimes Against Women” on Jan. 24, 2020 at 12:00 noon in the seminar hall. 1985-86 batch alumnus of the college, Mr. Lalit Chaudhary, Advocate, Punjab and Haryana High Court was the chief speaker in the programme. Principal, Dr. Raj Pal Singh welcomed the chief speaker by presenting a bouquet. In his address, Mr. Chaudhary highlighted the importance of safety and security of women in the modern society. He said that womenkind had been on the receiving end in the patriarchal social set up and had been subjected to various heinous crimes like acid attacks, assaults, molestation, rapes, and even murders. He pointed out that women were not safe even at their homes and had to bear the brunt of domestic violence at the hands of their husbands, in-laws or sons. Mr. Chaudhary also informed the audience of various laws for the protection of women against such heinous crimes. Principal, Dr. Raj Pal Singh said that with education, financial independence and awareness of one's rights, women could change the course of their life in a positive direction. He administered an oath to all the participants to respect women and not to indulge in any criminal activities against women.
