NSS units of GMN College organized a lecture on “Save Water Dialogue” on 31st July 2019. 110 volunteers participated in this event. Aim of this lecture was to spread awareness regarding the importance of water and the need for its conservation. Dr. Anju Jain, Professor, Department of English addressed the students about the alarming situation of water resource not only in India but also in western countries. She discussed that water is essential to life on earth. We need water to grow food, keep clean, provide power, control fire and last but not least, we need to stay alive. NSS Programme Officers Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Shikha Jaggi, and Dr. Rajendra motivated the students to conserve the water resource. Water is an essential natural resource and a very important part of human life and hence should be conserved. This will help us and our future generations to live a longer, better and peaceful life on this planet. Many volunteers actively shared their views on water conservation and steps that should be followed by individuals in daily routine to conserve water. Importance of rainwater harvesting for water conservation was also discussed. Volunteers also took oath to conserve water.
