LOHRI CELEBRATION on 14th JAN 2020
Lohri Festival was celebrated in the college ground with great pomp and show.
The students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. Lohri is the
harvest festival of Punjab. Thus, people residing in Punjab attach a great
significance to Lohri, the festival of feasts and food. The programme kicked off
with “Lohri Poojan”.
Vice-Principal Dr. Geeta Salwan along with all other teachers worshipped
“Dhooni” and groundnuts and sweets were also distributed among the students.
Students offered groundnuts, rewri, gachak to the God of Fire and enjoyed the
festival by singing on the songs in praise of “Dulha Bhatti”. The students and
teachers sang songs immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab.
All the Commerce Faculty as well as other staff members joined the occasion.
