National Webinar on “Digital Technology in Present Scenario”

Department of Commerce in collaboration with Department of Economics and Department of Management of G.M.N. College, Ambala Cantt organised a National Webinar on “Digital Technology in Present Scenario” on 29.06.2021. Prof. Vandana Punia, Human Resource Development Centre, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar was the Keynote Speaker. Dr. Raj Pal Singh, Worthy Principal, G.M.N. College, Ambala Cantt formally welcomed the dignitaries. Dr. Surender Kumar Kundu read out the theme of the webinar stating that webinar has been organised to acquaint the teaching faculty with the use of latest technology for online teaching mode. It will help the faculty to make efficient use of the technology in delivery of knowledge in a better way for the overall development of the students.
The Keynote Speaker Prof. Vandana Punia explored the relevance of digital technology in present scenario by focusing her talk on three major areas: 1) Virtual Classrooms and E-content, 2) Utilisation of Digital Tools and Technologies in Effective Instructions and 3) Delivery of Learning through Online Platforms. She discussed in detail various Interactive Classroom Learning Tools like- WebEx, Skype, Google Meet etc. She deeply explained various options of Google Drive, Google Slides, Google Meet and Google Classroom that can be used in making online teaching more fruitful. She emphasized the need of Digital Assessment Tools like- Google Forms, Padlet, Quizlet and Scorative etc. for effective assessment of students. But she highlighted that technology should be used to supplement teaching and not replace it.
In the end, Dr. V.K. Jain, Head, Department of Commerce extended vote of thanks. 230 participants got themselves registered for the Webinar. All the staff members of Department of Commerce, Department of Economics, Department of Management were present in the webinar.
