Report on NSS Seven Days Special Camp From 1-02-2021 to 7-02-2021 Venue- Ugara Village and College Campus The N.S.S. (National Service Scheme) units of G.M.N. College, Ambala Cantt .organized annual Seven Days Special camp at Ugara Village as well College Campus. The Camp lasted for seven days. Professor D.S Rana Coordinator, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra was participated as a Chief Guest on this occasion. Dr. Raj Pal Sigh welcome the Chief Guest and presented the purpose of the camp. Mr. Jaswinder Singh Sarpench of the Ugara villgae highlighted the progress of the village under his tenure and motivated the volunteers. Projects were sorted out. Volunteers were divided into 8 groups. Tasks were assigned to them. Through various campaigns villagers were educated about the protection of the environment. Streets and drains were cleaned. The villagers took part in the Cleanliness drive enthusiastically. The greatest accomplishment was the successful completion of our various activities like road safety campaign, rallies and competition on various issues. This camp was organized successfully with the coordination of programme officer’s Dr. Dharamveer Saini, Dr. Anish and Dr. Saroj. Second day of NSS camp on 2-02-2021 several activities were organized in the camp being organized by GMN College, Ambala Cantonment! On the second day of the camp, Principal Dr. Rajpal Singh told that volunteers are participating actively in various activities in the NSS camp. He said that NSS camps are organized to stabilize the feeling of unity among the students. Volunteers learn the method of life in these camps and what they learn then they stay with them. Many activities were organized in the camp. Volunteers participated in these activities and presented the burning issues through various posters. Volunteers made posters on the topics of road safety, covid-19, water conservation etc. Along with this, a cleanliness drive was conducted at the entrance of the college premises in which cleanliness was done in the college campus. Volunteers participated in this activity with great enthusiasm. In this episode, social worker A.D. delivered a lecture. AD Gandhi guided the new generation by illustrating great characters. He said that we should use our energy in positive works. The volunteers of the NSS are grown up to play the role of a responsible citizen. Respect for our country evokes a sense of self-pride within us. Principal Dr. Rajpal Singh ji ate today's food made by volunteers, which added to the enthusiasm among the children. Third day of NSS camp on 3 February 2021, First Aid Training was organized by the NSS Unit of GMN College, Ambala Cantt. During the training volunteers were trained in a very scientific manner. The training described how the person should treat the patient in the event of an accident, as well as emergency. By sharing the history of the Red Cross with volunteers, it is reported that a member of the Red Cross plays the role of a soldier. After the First Aid training, a convoy of volunteers led by Program Officers Dr. Dharmaveer Saini, Dr. Anish and Dr. Saroj preceded to the orphanage home built in the cantt, where the volunteers went on a cleanliness drive. Volunteers were told in detail about the past of the orphanage there. Congratulating the volunteers, the college principal said that first aid training is definitely a necessary training for them and also said that they should take part in this auspicious task. On 4,February Fast Aid training and lectures were organized in village Ugara and college premises on the fourth day of the seven day camp being run by the NSS unit of GMN College, Ambala Cantonment. Kiran Kashyap, an expert of First Aid Training, presented the practical aspect of First Aid Training today. A demo of practical aspects was given by one volunteer from each different teams of volunteers. During the time of emergency or accident, it was told as how to lift an accident person. After the first aid training, a lecture was organized in collaboration with the Women's Cell, Eco Club, in which the chief guest was Yoga Foundation Ambala president and environmentalist Sh. Rajendra Vij. Welcoming the Chief Guest on the occasion, Principal Dr. Rajpal Singh said that environment is the main topic today and nature satisfies everyone without any discrimination. We should learn the lesson of equity from nature. Chief Guest Environmentalist Rajendra Vij shared his experiences with volunteers. In his lecture, he told that environment is our family member. We should have a close relationship with all these including trees, plants, water, mountains, waterfalls etc. We should take a pledge that we will plant saplings on some particular day. Today's saplings become trees tomorrow and give rest to any traveler and tired body. The lecture was concluded by a vote of thanks by Satish Mudgil. On this occasion, NSS Programme Officer Dr. Dharmveer Saini, Dr. Anish, Dr. Saroj and Women Cell President Dr. Bharti Vij, NCC officer Dr. Nishtha, Eco Club Coordinator Dr. Kuldeep Yadav, Dr. Meenu Rathi and Dr. Shikha Jaggi were present. On 5,February the fifth day of the seven-day camp being run by the NSS unit of GMN College Ambala Cantt the volunteers went to Apna Ghar (old age home), Ambala Cantonment and got to know about their problems by interacting with the elderly and Took their blessings. On this occasion, volunteers distributed fruits to the elderly. NSS officer Dr. Dharmveer told that on this occasion, volunteers also presented cultural programs in the college in which they expressed their expressions through dance, singing and poems. On this occasion a lecture of Mr. Anil Kumar Sub-Inspector Haryana Police was organized in association with Road Safety Club on the subject of Road Safety Survival! On this occasion, Dr. Anish, Dr. Saroj and Dr. Meenu Rathi and Dr. Shikha Jaggi were present. GMN College Ambala Cantt,NSS Unit organized many activities on the sixth day of the camp! Many activities were organized on the sixth day of the camp, the results of the activities conducted on the first day of the camp, such as poster making, were announced! After that the Eye Checkup Camp was organized in the college premises. Eye specialist Dr. Reena Singh examined the eyes of volunteers and professors and informed them about some beneficial medicines for them. Volunteers were inspired to take good food and also said that in this season, every age person should take care of their eyes . One should avoid putting his hands in the eyes again and again! Dr. VK Jain, head of the Department of Commerce, while addressing the volunteers, said that it is the duty of the volunteer to get up early in the morning and include exercise in his routine! Only a volunteer can build a society! On this occasion, Dr. Rachna Khanna, head of the Department of Sociology, told the student about the diseases related to women and at the same time, she was pleased with the service of the volunteers and gave them the fruits! NSS Program Officer Dr. Dharamveer Saini said that with eye care only one can take care of his whole body. Every student should participate in some sport or the other, through the energy and positive environment, the personality of the person is developed! The Principal of the college, Dr. Rajpal Singh, congratulated all the volunteers for this successful camp. On this occasion Satish Mudgil, Dr. Anish, Dr. Saroj were present. The last day of the seven-day camp being run by the NSS unit of GMN College Ambala Cantonment concluded at village Ugara. Mr. Madanlal DSP Haryana Police attended as Chief Guest. He shared his experiences with the volunteers and said that one should first be self-sufficient and take care of cleanliness around himself. All these volunteers are the future builders of our country. The students took part in many cultural activities under the chairmanship of the village sarpanch Mrs. Harindra Kaur and Mr. Jasvindra Singh. Dance, musical instruments were performed in the auditorium. On this occasion, Sarpanch Smt. Harinder Kaur said that the village Ugada welcomes and thanks all of you. NSS officer Dr. Dharamveer Saini presented the Concluded report of the seven-day camp to the chief guest. Shri Satish Modgil thanked the Chief Guest and the volunteers for showering their affection. Praising the students in the closing session, Dr. Anish said that the energy of the volunteers is inexplicable. We get strength by looking at volunteers. NSS officer Dr. Saroj told the volunteers that every year we will organize such activity and the participation of all of you is the beauty of this camp. College Principal Dr. Rajpal Singh thanked and congratulated all the volunteers and NSS officers for this event.
