The Legal Literacy Cell of G.M.N College, Ambala Cantt. organized a one day workshop on Legal Rights in which Mr. Danish Gupta, C.J.M Ambala was the Chief Guest. The Convenor of the cell, Ms. Rachna Khanna gave a hearty welcome to the esteemed judge. He illuminated the audience about the role of the District Legal Services Authority and its relevance for common citizens. He pointed out that any individual can approach the Legal Services office for free legal aid. By distributing pamphlets about the legal services, he made it clear to the students that it is their responsibility to educate their parents and neighbors about basic legal rights. In an interactive way, he discussed the process by which one can reach the DLSA for free consultation and drafting of petitions. He highlighted the method that needs to be kept in mind before filing any complaint. At the end of the lecture, there was a question-answer session that showed the curiosity of college students to know more about DLSA. In the end, Ms. Rachna Khanna expressed her gratitude to Mr. Danish Gupta for sparing his valuable time for the welfare of students. Other members of the teaching faculty like Dr. Gasso, Dr. Rakesh, Dr. Geeta Salwan, Dr. Tripti, and Ms. Nishtha were also present during the event. Moreover, the event was attended by a large number of students from both graduate and post- graduate courses.
