Science Awareness Programme
In order to develop scientific temperament among the students of different schools and colleges
of Ambala District, a one day Science awareness programme on the theme ‘Science &
Technology for a sustainable future’ was organized by the Botany & Zoology Department of
Gandhi Memorial National College Ambala Cantt. on 31 st Aug, 2019 in collaboration with
Science Congress Association (ISCA) Rohtak Chapter. Dr. Jitender Sharma, Professor,
Department of Biotechnology, Kurukshetra University was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr.
R.P. Singh (Principal of the college) focused on the role of Science in everyday life. In this
programme, different events like inter-school poster-making, inter-school slogan writing, inter-
college poster-making and inter-college slogan writing competitions were organized. Around
100 participants from different schools and colleges participated in the various competitions. The
judgement for different events was done by Dr. Sunital Dalal. In the end, Prof. Sharma & Dr.
Dalal also did scientific interaction with the students. Dr. Kuldeep Yadav, Head, Department of
Botany was the convener and Dr. Shikha Jaggi, Head, Department of Zoology and Dr. Meenu
Rathi, Department of Botany were the organizing secretaries of the programme. The first three
winners in each event were awarded with certificates and trophies.
