Subject Orientation of First Year History Studnets

An orientation program was organized online by the History Department of Gandhi
Memorial National College, Ambala Cantonment under the direction of Principal Dr.
Rajpal Singh ji. The topic of the program was How to Read History and
Opportunities in History. The keynote speaker was Dr. Suman Siwach, Assistant
Professor,, Department of History, Indira Gandhi National College, Ladwa, Kurukshetra.
At the beginning of the program, Principal Dr. Rajpal Singh welcomed the keynote
speaker and said that the history subject was one of the impressive subject from its
existence and has been a good subject. History is a subject which every student should
study in general because if the students are aware of the history of themselves and their
country then that country develops itself. After this Dr. Dharamveer Saini Head,
Department of History, GMN College , Ambala Cantt highlighted the objectives of the
program by making the students aware of the program. Keynote speaker Dr. Suman
Siwach in his address said that there are immense possibilities of employment in the
history subject so students and students after graduating in this subject. He said that in
every type of competitive examination, questions related to the history topic are asked a
lot. In Indian Administrative Service also, by choosing History as a main subject,
success can be achieved in these services. Along with this, there is a good demand
related to the subject of history in the Staff Selection Commission examinations and
state level examinations. On this occasion, students of History Department IGN College,
Ladwa and Department of History, GMN College, Ambala Cantt were present.
