Workshop on "Innovative Experiments in Physics"

Department of Physics, Gandhi Memorial National College, Ambala Cantt organized an experimental workshop on the topic” Innovative Experiments in Physics” on 27 th September 2019. The students and science faculty of our college participated in the seminar. Dr. Manmohan Singh Marwah, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa college, Chandigarh and Dr. Inderjeet Singh Sandhu, Dean, Chitkara University, Rajpura were the resource persons of the seminar. Our worthy principal Dr. Raj Pal Singh welcomed the resource persons of the seminar on the behalf of students, faculty and management of the college. He emphasized the importance of scientific thinking which is based on three parameters: what, how and why. He laid stress on interactive learning and importance of experiments in physics. In the first session, Dr. Marwah demonstrated various phenomena related to sound, electricity, magnetism, optics, waves and vibrations. He encouraged students to observe their surroundings and develop logical reasoning. In Second session of the workshop, Dr. Inderjeet Singh Sandhu explained in detail fundamentals of nano-particles. He motivated students and faculty to pursue research in nano science and set up a research lab in the college itself. Dr. Raj Pal Singh Presented mementoes to the resource persons as a token of gratitude and appreciation. The workshop ended with vote of thanks from Dr. S. K. Pandey. 67 students attended the workshop. Dr. Niyti, Dr. V.K. Bindal and Dr. Neha Aggarwal were also attended the workshop.
